The CERMAC headquarters project embodies a tribute to ancestral materials, drawing inspiration from earthy elements to sculpt its volumes.
Formed by elongated structures, these volumes are ingeniously sliced to unveil the laboratory’s translucent material, permitting a play of light to permeate the interior.
This design seamlessly melds with the idyllic bucolic landscape enveloping the site, creating a harmonious coexistence.
Through a harmonious blend of primitive textures and modern transparency, the project not only reflects CERMAC’s expertise but also integrates seamlessly with its serene natural surroundings.

Earthen Foundation: The structure is anchored by a base of tinned concrete, its earth tones echoing the natural surroundings and providing a sense of stability. This choice not only complements the landscape but also offers durability for the entire complex.
Vibrant Office Space: The office building takes on a more vibrant personality through the use of colored concrete. This material selection fosters a stimulating and engaging environment for employees, contrasting with the earthier tones of the foundation.
Technological Encapsulation: The laboratory building stands as a symbol of innovation, clad in a dark grey metal ribbed cladding. This material evokes a sense of precision and technological advancement, while the ribbed texture adds visual depth.
Bridging the Divide: A Translucent Connection: A translucent opening featuring U-channel glass acts as a bridge between the two distinct volumes. It allows natural light to penetrate deep into the massive laboratory block, fostering a connection with the exterior environment. Additionally, the U-channel glass frames a view of the fields beyond, as seen from the office terrace, creating a sense of openness and environmental awareness.
This design seamlessly melds with the idyllic bucolic landscape enveloping the site, creating a harmonious coexistence.
A Cohesive Language of Materials This interplay of materials creates a unified yet distinct presence for the office and laboratory facility. The earth tones and colored concrete establish a strong connection to the environment, while the metal cladding emphasizes the technological focus of the laboratory. The translucent bridge serves not only a functional purpose but also acts as a unifying element, fostering a sense of synergy between the two distinct spaces. In essence, the material palette acts as a silent language, communicating the purpose and character of each space within the research hub.
